PRESENTATION 1: The changing face of publishing in the age of the iPhone
The rapid evolvement of the digital age has thrown many challenges into the path of traditional book publishers, many of which were established in the nineteeth century or earlier, and still run on nineteenth century business models.
This case study by Tracey Northcott of Tokyo-based mobile applications firm Enfour, and Steve King of global publishing conglomerate Pearson, showcases how a paper dictionary was recreated and improved for the iPhone platform, to demonstrate that every digital challenge faced by a traditional business can in fact become an exciting opportunity.
Bio: Steve King has worked across Japan for over 12 years, the last five of which have been spent in Sales, Editorial Research, and Business Development for Longman, the world’s oldest commercial book brand and part of Person Education. Together with trade book publisher Penguin and the Financial Times, Pearson Education is the world’s largest educational publisher with offices in 64 countries and 33,000 employees.
PRESENTATION 2: Bluebridge Release Exclusive
Almost three-years ago I launched Zooomr, the very first photo-sharing website available in multiple languages.
On Nov. 10th, 2008 Bluebridge will be releasing their next new service of many more to come. We are honored that Bluebridge have chosen Tokyo 2.0 as the venue to announce their new service.
Just as Zooomr was revolutionary in the photo-sharing space, we anticipate seeing how bluebridge plans a revolution in the areas of business and communication.
